ShelfReader

ShelfReader is a personal reading tracker and library that keeps your books and reading progress on your device. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

ShelfReader does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

Information we collect

None. ShelfReader has no account or sign-in and never asks for personal details. Everything you add — books, notes, progress — stays on your device.

Data stored on your device

To make the app work, ShelfReader stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:

This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to ShelfReader or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.

Permissions

ShelfReader requests no sensitive runtime permissions — it does not access your camera, microphone, location, or contacts. The app declares the standard internet permission, but it does not send your data anywhere; no reading data ever leaves your device.

Network use

ShelfReader keeps your library entirely on your device and does not upload it. It contacts no servers of ours. If you choose to share via the system share sheet, your device passes your selected text to the app you pick — ShelfReader itself transmits nothing.

Third-party services

None. No analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs are embedded.

Children's privacy

ShelfReader is safe for all ages. It collects no personal data and sends nothing over the network, so it aligns with COPPA and GDPR-K by design.

Your rights

Because your library lives only on your device, you fully control it. Delete individual books in the app, clear the app's data in your device settings, or uninstall the app to permanently erase everything.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
